With over 25 years of legal experience, Roman Kolos has a deep understanding of the Ukrainian legal and business landscape. Before founding ArsLegem, he was Partner and Head of Corporate & M&A at the Kyiv office of Wolf Theiss, one of CEE’s leading law firms. Prior to that, he held senior positions at Magisters, where he also led the Corporate & M&A practice in Moscow in 2007. His early career included in-house legal roles at multinational companies, including TNK-BP, giving him valuable corporate insight.
Roman is a graduate of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and has been practicing law in Ukraine since 2000. He obtained his attorney-at-law (advocate) license in 2010.

Roman has advised domestic and international clients on a wide range of high-profile transactions, including:
•Multi Development – EUR 52.1 million EBRD financing for the construction of a retail centre in Lviv.
•GMP Securities LP & Black Iron Inc. - Ukrainian counsel for an IPO on the Toronto Stock Exchange in the mining sector.
•Hypo Alpe-Adria-Leasing - Restructuring of nearly 50% of a distressed loan portfolio.
•Oracle Corporation - Ukrainian merger clearance for the $7.4 billion acquisition of Sun Microsystems.
•Goldman Sachs - Acquisition of a minority stake in Dragon Capital, a leading Ukrainian investment firm.
•Intesa Sanpaolo – EUR 493 million acquisition of Pravex Bank, one of Ukraine’s major banking transactions.
•Shell - Joint venture with Alliance Group leading to Shell acquiring control over 150 retail gas stations in Ukraine.
